About Shipping Link πŸ”—

This is a configurable link to obtain the necessary information to create a shipment; this is done through a form that the end buyer fills out.

The current context πŸ—‚

There are different types of social media merchants, from large corporations to small business owners. Every sale made through chat results in a shipping link. The shipping link allows buyers to share it and place the necessary information for the purchase to reach its destination. This feature is already used in a few shipping apps.

Our vision for impact πŸ“Š

The shipping company wants to introduce new features that achieve the following KPIs:
‍
Capture larger customers: Based on the hypothesis that they do not want manual labor (potentially helps attract customers from all segments).
Improve the conversion rate: Incentivize the use of automatic guide creation and display shipping costs within the link.
Reduce churn: Give a product that meets the needs of customers and is willing to pay more expensive in some cases.

The Challenge 🎯

How can we summarize the basic information for a shipment with a link?

How does it work?

UX Research Methods πŸ”

Using our Double Diamond design framework, our team conducted UX research and design using methods such as secondary research and primary research through user interviews and affinity diagrams.

Product Review

First, we examine the feasibility and impact that this new feature could have.

Design Sprint🚦

After the feature is released, we proceed to the Design Sprint. The Design Sprint is based on the 5 phases: Map, Sketch, Decide, Prototype and Testing for the first stage of the MVP.

design sprint
What we did learn?
  • 80% of our users generate sales through social networks.
  • On average, it takes them 5 minutes to complete 1 shipping guide.
  • The social networks they use most often are Instagram and Facebook.
  • Purchases are completed via Messenger or Whatsapp.
  • The most time-consuming process is getting the buyers' full address.
Understanding our users
"We want a tool that automates the process of creating guides for selling on social networks"
Sketch & decide

After the finding process we make sketches so that we can choose the best idea.

What can users do in the feature?
  • They will be able to create multiple links.
  • Manage the created links.
  • They will be able to view the history of requested items with links.
  • They will be able to configure links by expiration date and fixed prices.
  • They will be able to save directions and packaging dimensions to facilitate link creation.
  • The end buyers will be able to open the link and fill out the form with the destination address of the purchase.
  • Branding is very important to trust the process of collecting personal data. They will be able to upload their logo and brand name.
Mid-Fidelity Wireframes & Testing

Through 4 remote interviews via Google Meet with customers, users were able to interact with the wireframes and commented on certain important aspects such as:

Users indicated that they would like to make the settings in the first step.

We saw the need to add a configurable button to allow the end buyer to return to the store if desired.

sketch3

The reading of the elements of the table has been ordered more logically and the configuration "Number of uses" has been added; this configuration is used to mark a product stock limit.

Reflection

Final Design πŸ”†

The look and feel is based on the fundamentals of the design system in web and mobile version. Due to the requirements of the function, it was necessary to create new components. Finally, it went through the testing process again and received very good feedback from users. Here are some of the most outstanding screens:
